Breaking Point

Some days I’m at the breaking point
like glass falling from 100 stories,
no hope in it surviving the fall.

But what if it could harden its core?
And have foam surround its outer layer?

Maybe then it can withstand the fall
and absorb the strength to not break,
and be ready for the next great descent.

And bounce back up once again.

Behind a Mask

Blisters once on my body still haunt me
Everyone knows I laugh but they’ll never see
Hate my life cuz of how it used to be
Invisible past cuz it was hard to keep
Nude images running through my head
Decision making that could have left me dead

Acting like a completely different person

Making thoughts run through my head like is it worth it
Abusive relationships tried taking over my pride
Scared that I will get hurt again but acting like it is fine
Kind of just want to give up but it’s not that time

a silent vigil for our lost love
but it is absurd to think
that you could see
the single flame from my window
You are too far away

I think I died several times this year
I’m sure my heart stopped every time I thought about living without you
Hell seemed to surround me

I slept only to dream of you
not caring that you haunted
my mind
Even during the day
shadows of you crept around
every corner
I was drawn to people
that resembled your smile
or your hands-
The wind carried your name
———————————————
Our love did not die its natural death
parts of it linger on the earth
to torment me
and remind me of what I lost
The ghost of our love is all I have left
May the devastating remnants of it linger on
